About Us
At Generation XX, we believe in a world where all youth feel a sense of belonging, have their needs met through nurturing community relationships, and grow into active, successful citizens.
Generation XX’s free indoor skatepark is open 6 days a week to skateboarders, rollerblades and scooters. It is a fun, natural-flowing park with lots of fun opportunity for youth.
The Generation XX skatepark opened in 1997 after Mike and Dale Hussy, two local Summerside men, donated their talents to build Summerside’s first indoor skatepark.
Since then, the skatepark has been a safe, free place for Summerside youth to learn, lead, stay active and build community.
“Safe environment. Excellent staff. Well structured. Amazing contributions to our little city!” – Parent
“Thanks so much for all the work that goes into running a place like this. Every community should have this for our youth.” – Parent
In 2017, we received an offer from the crew of HMCS Summerside help us freshen up the skatepark. We made sure to show off some of the talent we have in the building and found out that they had a skateboarder among them too.
